Natural duvets are extremely durable and naturally breathable. They can be filled with duck or goose feather or down, or other natural fibres such as silk and cotton.

Silk is regarded as the best and most luxurious natural fibre next to your skin. Silk is a naturally hypoallergenic, breathable and thermal fibre, that helps to regulate body temperature, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Cotton fibre is both soft and breathable and keeps you cool in hot weather.

Down comes from the breast of a duck or goose, is an excellent insulator and has no quill. The more down in a duvet the softer, lighter and more luxurious it will feel.

Generally speaking, duvets containing feathers are heavier - for those who like to feel 'tucked-in' - and are also less expensive.

Hungarian, Polish, Siberian & Canadian goosedown are considered premium down fillings - the clusters are larger than those of standard goosedown and trap more air. This thermal performance allows less filling to be used to achieve the same warmth and so the duvets are very light.

You should always check the percentage of down and feather in the filling. Duvets from reputable manufacturers will always be clear on this and will show the percentage of down and feather on packaging and/or product sash labels.

All of the natural down & feather duvets in the i love my range are of a high quality, cassette construction. This means the filling will remain evenly spread across the duvet when in use. They are finished to the highest quality with piped or twin needle stitched edging and woven labels.

If you're buying a natural feather or down duvet I recommend you buy one with the highest down content that you can afford. Except if you really like a 'heavy' duvet - then choose Goose feather & down.

With appropriate care, natural duvets will last for over 10 years.
