Which is your lightest duvet? | Which is your lightest duvet? |
|
The weight of a duvet is sometimes measured in grams per square meter and this weight varies due to a number of factors: The tog (warmth rating) - i.e. how much filling. The type of filling, synthetic or natural, the percentage of down, type of down (e.g Hungarian, Siberian etc.) and purity. The fabric of the cassette or cover. Generally the better quality down is lighter for the same warmth and is more expensive. 100% down is significantly more expensive than 90% or 80% as the final few feathers are removed by hand.
* Kauffmann duvets available up to 12 Tog only. Note: weights are approximate and include fabric and filling for a duvet of equivalent warmth. Silk duvets are sold in two weights 200 gm2 and 400 gm2 equivalent to 4 Tog and 8 Tog respectively.
